Val Thorens

Val Thorens, at 2300 m altitude, is the highest ski resort in Europe. The resort forms part of Les 3 Vallées linked ski area which, with over 600 km of pistes, is the largest linked ski area in the world.

"Snow sure" - high altitude of Val Thorens, the Glacier de Péclet, and north-facing slopes guarantee good snow for a long season, even off the glacier, with the winter season lasting into early May and summer skiing on the glacier. The highest skiable peaks are Pointe du Bouchet (3220m) and Cime de Caron (3200m), with its cable car of the same name, one of the biggest in the world with the capacity of 150+1 passengers. It is still often crowded, though.

Val Thorens is pronounced with the final s vocalized. Not customary for French language, but often heard in the south. For friends, it's just Valtho.

Quality Perfect. Everything should be there, checked and re-checked. Still, things do change in the field; trust no one.
